10:10:10 Postcard 13 – Some thoughts on innovation from MJ Petroni
When considering innovation, people frequently ask: what’s in it for me? To get ideas to take off, you need to look at how you get people to buy into the vision so there is alignment between the individuals and the team. Once people have bought into the vision it allows straight talk between team members and the leadership.
You need executives to demand that their team members give them straight talk. Because if you can’t hear what your team members are telling you, what are the chances of you hearing what your customers telling you?
Look at setting up asynchronous communication methods as a way of getting people to be able to share their ideas by removing the emotion.
Rather than calling out individuals, rather have discussions around objectives.
